All studies indicate that the mining history in Yemen goes back historically about two thousand years. At that time, man’s requirements were limited to seeking uncomplicated materials for living such as hard rocks to make rudimentary weapons and tools with which to support his daily life. With time, man’s desires increased and he began looking for alternative elements and minerals to continue his life. In the twentieth century new developments have grown exponentially in the mineral exploitation field. This is due to the rapid development of sciences and technological development in parallel with human development on the earth’s surface. As a result, countries around the world started to build specialized scientific centers, institutes, boards and colleges for the study of mineral resources, exploration, and development. Yemen is characterized by great geology and mineral resources and for this reason Yemen is potentially attractive for investors from world wide. Yemen’s mineral investment laws are very transparent and flexible. Yemen has good infrastructure and it’s strategic location has made Yemen a great commercial center for import and export throughout time. Today the united country under the auspices of the PRESIDENT ALI ABDULLA SALEH works through the political program to achieve the utilization of different natural resources. In the past the ancient Yemenis were pioneers in exploiting their natural resources. The Ministry of Oil and Minerals works hard to achieve development of the mining sector beside the well established exploitation for oil and gas. We believe that there exists a wide and rich climate for investment and for this strong foundation to bring benefit to all.
