Welcome to YGSMRB Official Web site

The Republic of Yemen is working to develop a practical vehicle for encouraging mineral exploration activities Within its territories. This web site recognizes the complexity of the metallic and nonmetallic mineral industries, and its efforts are being focused on the promotion of mineral exploration throug the use of foreign aid in addition to Government funds.
In the early 1970's, Yemen established the Geological Survey for Oil and Minerals Exploration. The survey was recently divided into two independent bodies, one for the oil sector and a second for the minerals sector. These are now represented by the Oil Exploration and Production Board, and the Geological Survey and Minerals Exploration Board, the latter of which deals with all non-petroleum mineral issues.
